Police are investigating the discovery of a 160kg stone concealed among sugarcane stocks at the Sevanagala Sugar Factory, following a complaint by factory management.

Statements are being recorded as part of the probe.

Deputy Minister R. M. Jayawardena visited the site and assured that the Government will not tolerate sabotage of the sugar industry.
