Sri Lanka is on track to surpass one million foreign tourist arrivals in 2025, with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) reporting a total of 956,639 visitors so far this year.
Between 1 and 13 May alone, 59,755 foreign tourists arrived in the country, indicating steady interest despite the seasonal dip following the winter travel period.
India remains the top source of tourists, contributing 18,812 arrivals, followed by Germany (4,447), the UK (4,256), and China (3,930).
The SLTDA expects tourist numbers to rise in the coming months, projecting stronger performance compared to the same periods in 2023 and 2024.
