The Ministry of Sports has announced that the inaugural “Lanka Ride 2025” Cycling Tour will take place from 18 to 20 December 2025, marking the first event of its kind in Sri Lanka.

Jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Lake House Group, Department of Sports Development, and the Cycling Referees’ Association, the event will feature a three-day race covering more than 450 km across the island.

The tour will begin with a 7 km free ride from Lake House, Colombo, before officially starting from Peliyagoda and proceeding to Gannoruwa, Kandy, and Anuradhapura, finishing at Independence Square in Colombo.

Teams can register with 4–6 cyclists before 12 December, and winners will receive cash prizes, including Rs. 600,000 for first place and additional awards for best youth, climber, sprinter, and team performances.
