Beignets from ‘The Princess and the Frog’

Tiana’s very special beignets from the movie ‘The Princess and the Frog,’ also known as the sweet, square French doughnuts, beignets are New Orleans’ new classic. The historical French markets have been serving up delicious French-style beignets since 1862. This little fried pastry covered in powdered sugar is perfect for brunch.

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  2. In a stand mixer, beat the eggs until smooth, and add vanilla and milk.
  3. Beat in 3 and ½ cups of flour until smooth and slowly add the yeast mixture, and butter, and beat until incorporated.
  4. Beat in the 3 ½ cups of flour and salt.
  5. Place the dough in a bowl (covered) and let the dough sit for 2 hours.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to ¼ inch thick and 2-inch squares.
  7. In batches, fry the dough until golden brown.
  8. Dust with a light layer of powdered sugar and serve at once.

Confit byaldi from ‘Ratatouille’

Bringing to you a beautiful and elegant presentation, the confit byaldi dish is made in the iconic scene from the Disney movie ‘Ratatouille.’ You can easily prepare this appetising dish without any assistance from the fictional character Remy as the recipe calls for yellow squash, minced garlic, and pepper as its key ingredients.

  1. Coat the pepper in olive oil and place them on a burner and cook until they are charred.
  2. Cut a small X in the bottom of the tomatoes and boil them until the skin peels off around the X.
  3. Then transfer them into an ice bath and remove the skin once it cools down.
  4. Slice the peeled tomatoes, zucchini, squash, and eggplant into 1/8-inch thick pieces.
  5. Prepare the pepper sauce by peeling off the skin of the pepper and adding them to a blender along with onion, garlic olive oil, tomatoes, vegetable stock water, and rosemary, and blend until smooth.
  6. Pour a layer of pepper sauce on a baking tray and arrange the vegetables on top by combining a slice of eggplant with tomato, yellow squash, and zucchini.
  7. Sprinkle some rosemary and pepper with olive oil on top.
  8. Transfer it to the oven and cook until vegetables are tender.

Iced rolls from the movie ‘Brave’
