Efforts are underway to rescue 15 more Sri Lankans who were forcibly employed in cybercrime centres in Myawaddy, Myanmar, the Foreign Ministry confirmed.
On the instruction of the Foreign Minister, a group will depart to facilitate the rescue, expected to be completed by tomorrow (6).
The International Organization for Migration in Thailand will assist with travel arrangements and local transport.
The operation is being carried out in coordination with Thai authorities, including the Governor of Tak Province and immigration officials.
In March, a similar mission successfully rescued 14 Sri Lankans from the same region.
