Deputy Minister Chathuranga Abeysinghe highlighted growing collaboration prospects during his recent visit to Riyadh, where he met Saudi business leaders and the Saudi–Sri Lanka Joint Business Council.
He noted that Sri Lankan exports to Saudi Arabia are increasing and negotiations for a Trade Promotion and Investment Agreement are underway.
Key sectors for cooperation include renewable energy, shipping, tourism, technology, startups, and agriculture.
Abeysinghe emphasized the importance of the 200,000 Sri Lankans in Saudi Arabia as a vital link and praised Sri Lankan SMEs for their world-class capabilities.
He added that targeted government-to-government initiatives will help both private sectors engage more effectively, building lasting economic growth for both nations.
