The Department of Immigration and Emigration revealed that both one-day and regular services for issuing passports will be limited from 5 to 7 May due to the upcoming local Government (LG) elections.
According to the Department, the 24-hour passport service will also be suspended during this period.
The Department of Registration of Persons also announced that its head office and all public services, including the one-day service at provincial offices, will not be operational on 6 and 7 May, while counters issuing Vehicle Revenue License will be closed on 5 and 6 May as officers have been assigned to election duties.
The Ministry of Education (MOE) declared school holidays for all schools across the island on 5 and 6 May. Schools will be reopened on 7 May.
