A fire had reportedly broken out at two shops located in Kiribathgoda Town. The fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon (30) in a shop in Kiribathgoda Town and subsequently spread to the adjacent establishment. It was reported that five firefighting trucks had been dispatched to help extinguish the blaze.

The Colombo-Kandy main road had been temporarily closed for traffic due to the fire. Accordingly, motorists had been urged to use alternate routes. Heavy traffic congestion was reported along the main road due the fire.
