The Department of Meteorology has issued an ‘Amber’ advisory for severe lightning in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

The advisory, issued at noon today (25), will remain in effect until 11:30 p.m.

Thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning are expected after 1:00 p.m., with the possibility of temporary localised strong winds.
