The government will introduce a special rehabilitation programme for children on probation over drug use, addiction and drug-related offences, Minister of Women and Child Affairs Saroja Savithri Paulraj has announced.

The programme will include vocational training in collaboration with government training institutions to help children reintegrate into society.

The Minister also instructed officials to identify eligible children for training and take steps to fill vacancies for child welfare field officers in the Anuradhapura District.
