The historic Ehelepola Walauwa in Kandy is all set to open as an iconic wax museum, where royal history is to be brought to life for local and international visitors.
The walawwa has reportedly been restored under the stewardship of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy.
The Temple of the Tooth Relic had organised a pirith chanting and almsgiving ceremony that was held over two days, on Monday (30 June) and Tuesday (1), to mark this milestone.
The ceremony was led by the Diyawadana Nilame, seeking blessings from the first Ehelepola Adigar and his family, as well as all those who had contributed to this remarkable journey.
According to reports, the opening date of the wax museum is expected to be officially announced soon.
