Four newly promoted Additional Solicitors General of the Attorney General’s Department were sworn in as President’s Counsel today(21).

The swearing-in ceremony took place before the Supreme Court, presided over by Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena.

The four officers who took the oath were Sudarshana de Silva, Azard Navavi, Hiranjan Peiris, and Lakmali Karunanayake.

They were recently nominated for the prestigious appointment by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. 

The new titles recognise their senior status and legal expertise.
