The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has launched islandwide raids over the sale of wheat flour at increased prices following an unauthorised Rs. 13 price hike.

CAA Chairman Hemantha Samarakoon stated that traders selling wheat flour at higher prices would face legal action.

He noted that manufacturers had not notified the CAA or held discussions before increasing prices.
