Sri Lanka earned their first win of the Nations Cup with a top performance against the Cook Islands yesterday (24), scoring 63-52 at the OCBC Arena, Singapore. The Lankan lasses came into the game all guns blazing after their back-to-back losses to Canada and Singapore “A”.
Meanwhile, Papua New Guinea made it three wins in a row after thumping the juniors of Singapore (A) 52-40. Later, Canada was defeated by the stronger senior team of Singapore 50-44 to make it two in a row for the hosts. Today (25), Sri Lanka will play Papua New Guinea, but the most interesting clash would be the hosts’ two Singapore teams battling it out for glory.

Tomorrow (26) will be a rest day. Sri Lanka will face the strong Singapore team on Friday (27) at 4.30 p.m., and Saturday (28) will see the final day's proceedings.
