Lawyers representing former State Intelligence Service (SIS) chief Suresh Sallay told the Court of Appeal that the SIS had shared a list of 129 individuals, including Zahran Hashim, allegedly linked to ISIS ideology with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in January 2019, but claimed no appropriate action was taken.
President's Counsel Sanjeewa Jayawardena also submitted that the SIS had issued multiple intelligence reports warning of extremist activities before the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks, including intelligence received from India's RAW.
The Court of Appeal postponed further hearing of the petition challenging Sallay's arrest and detention under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) until 21 July 2026.
