The Sri Lanka Navy has taken into custody a multi-day fishing vessel over suspected narcotics transport in deep-sea waters south of the country.

Four suspects were arrested during the operation carried out by long-range naval vessels.

The vessel and suspected narcotics are being brought ashore for further investigation.

The Navy stated that more details will be released following inquiries.
