Malwathu Maha Viharaya says the Atamasthana Committee has temporarily appointed Ethalawetunuwewe Gnanathilaka Thero to oversee the duties of Atamasthanadhipathi.

The appointment will remain in effect until court proceedings involving Pallegama Hemarathana Nayake Thero are concluded and a final decision is reached.

Gnanathilaka Thero also serves as the Chief Incumbent of Ruwanwelisaya Maha Seya.
