The official announcement regarding plans to host the ‘Celebrity Tapeball League 2026,’ tournament in Sri Lanka was held on Sunday (9) at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium Complex, chaired by Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage.
At this event, an agreement was reached between Sri Lanka Tapeball (SLT) and Super Sixty, a leading sports organisation in the US, to jointly host this inaugural tournament at the start of next year.
The forthcoming tournament will feature popular actors, actresses, and athletes from Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
The primary objective of this tournament is to promote sports tourism and further popularise the game of Tapeball.
The event was attended by, SLT President Janath Punchihewa, Super Sixty (US) Founder and Leader Azhar Qasmi,Pakistan cricket ex-skipper Moin Khan, film actor Saud, famed athlete Nabeel Hashmi, SLT Senior Vice President Dumidu Hemal and, SLT General Secretary Ruchini Liyanage.
