The Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa stated that a mass peaceful protest against the proposed 22nd Amendment to the Constitution will be held in Colombo on 24 September.

Addressing a Samagi Jana Balawegaya meeting today (13), Premadasa alleged that the proposed amendment could undermine judicial independence and the rule of law.

He called on the public and other political groups to join the protest.
