The Court of Appeal will announce on 7 October whether notices should be issued on intervening petitions filed in connection with former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director Major General (Retd.) Suresh Sallay’s petition.

Sallay has challenged his arrest and detention under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in connection with investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday terror attacks.

A total of 12 parties, including Ven. Bengamuwe Nalaka Thera, several Buddhist monks and Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, have filed intervening petitions in the case.
