Barista Sri Lanka concluded its annual “Share a Meal” campaign for the sixth consecutive year, continuing its partnership with SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka to support vulnerable children across the country.
“At Barista Sri Lanka, our purpose extends beyond our cafés to the communities we serve,” said Barista Sri Lanka Chief Executive Officer/Director Dilupa Pathirana. “Through initiatives like Share a Meal, we transform everyday customer engagement into meaningful social impact, reinforcing our commitment to responsible growth and long-term community upliftment.”
The December 2025 campaign raised Rs. 6.78 million through contributions from customers and supporters islandwide. The funds enabled the provision of 67,830 meals to nearly 800 children living in six SOS Children’s Villages across Sri Lanka.
As part of the initiative, Team Barista visited an SOS Children’s Village, where they spent time with the children and formally handed over the funds collected during the month-long campaign. The event was attended by SOS Brand Ambassador and performer Umaria Singhawansa, along with representatives from Barista Coffee Lanka and SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka.
Divakar Ratnadurai, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka, stated that the contribution would also support education-related initiatives, in addition to meeting nutritional needs, with a focus on long-term development outcomes for the children.
The “Share a Meal” campaign reflects the ongoing collaboration between Barista Sri Lanka and SOS Children’s Villages, an international organisation that provides care, education and family-based support for children who have lost parental care or are at risk of losing it. In Sri Lanka, SOS Children’s Villages currently supports nearly 800 children.
