Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) and Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has recently noted that members from his family would not engage in politics and would only look at engaging in social services.

Premadasa’s comments came in response to rumours that recently did the rounds, that his wife Jalani Premadasa was gearing to enter politics.

Meanwhile, Jalani was recently conferred with an honorary title in recognition of her services to the promotion of Buddhism.

She was given the title ‘Sri Sugatha Sasana Prasadini’ with blessings by the three Buddhist chapters.

The presentation took place at Sri Sudarshanaramaya Purana Vihara at Kahagolla in Diyatalawa on 17 June.
