Criminal Investigation Department(CID) has sought public assistance to locate a suspect accused of defrauding individuals by promising employment opportunities in Romania.

Police stated that investigations launched with the Commercial Crimes Division revealed that a company identified as Rainbow Garments Technologies allegedly obtained nearly Rs. 920 million from at least 750 individuals.

The suspect has been identified as 54-year-old Shirley Jayawardana Amadoru of Homagama, who is believed to be a director of the company.

Police noted that the suspect has fled the area and requested anyone with information to contact 071-8594910 or 011-2444172.
