The International Monetary Fund has reaffirmed its support for Sri Lanka as the country continues economic recovery efforts amid recent challenges.
Speaking at a media briefing, IMF Communications Director Julie Kozack noted that Sri Lanka recently faced major economic pressure due to Cyclone Ditwah and the ongoing Middle East conflict.
She stated that Sri Lanka’s economy and people have shown resilience despite repeated shocks.
Kozack also noted that reforms under the IMF-supported programme are beginning to show results, while reaffirming the IMF’s commitment to continue working closely with Sri Lankan authorities.
