The Court of Appeal of Sri Lanka has fixed July 20 for support of a writ petition filed by former Deputy Secretary General of Parliament Chaminda Kularatne.

The petition challenges the decision to suspend his services, naming the Speaker and others as respondents.

The case was taken up before a bench led by Court of Appeal President Justice Rohantha Abeysuriya.

Several respondents’ lawyers informed the court they will raise preliminary objections when the case is heard.
