Showers are expected at times in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (20), the Meteorology Department stated.

Several spells of showers are also expected in the North-Western Province, with thundershowers possible in parts of Uva, Ampara and Batticaloa after 2 p.m.

Fairly strong winds of 30–40 kmph are expected in several areas, with the public advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning.
