An office assistant attached to the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court has been arrested by CIABOC officers for allegedly soliciting and accepting a Rs. 500 bribe to provide a copy of a court judgment.

The suspect allegedly requested the bribe to provide a judgment in a financial dispute case settled at the court.

CIABOC officers arrested the suspect at around 3.35 p.m. yesterday (16) within the court premises.

The suspect is due to be produced before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court. Further investigations are underway.
