Former State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe revealed that he will not contest the upcoming General Election. 

The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) member clarified that he has not quit politics despite this announcement.

According to the former Parliamentarian, he would work on serving the people of Anuradhapura who had previously elected him to Parliament, and provide unconditional assistance whenever the nation requires it in the future.
