The newly elected Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) will hold its inaugural session today (16) at 9:30 a.m. at the Town Hall.

The main agenda is the election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

No party secured a majority in the May 6 LG election, with the NPP leading with 48 seats, followed by the SJB with 29.

Both parties claim to have support to form a majority in the 117-member council.
