The Department of Prisons announced open visits for inmates on 12 and 13 May in celebration of Vesak Poya Day.

Relatives will be allowed to bring food parcels, sweets, and hygiene kits for inmates during these visits.

The initiative will be implemented across all prisons in Sri Lanka while following health guidelines.
