Prime Minister (PM) Harini Amarasuriya announced that steps are being taken to release the 2024 Grade 5 Scholarship Exam cut-off marks after disruptions caused by a question leak.

A Criminal Investigation Department (CID) investigation found that a private tutor in Kurunegala shared three similar questions before the exam. 

Disciplinary actions include fines for those involved, suspensions, and bans on examination duties.

To prevent future leaks, stricter security measures are being implemented, including enhanced monitoring, restricted access to confidential documents, and improved question paper preparation procedures.

Following a Supreme Court (SC) ruling, the evaluation process has resumed, and all students will receive full marks for the compromised questions.
