The National People’s Power (NPP) has taken control of both the Palindanuwara and Walallawita Pradeshiya Sabhas in Kalutara District.

In Palindanuwara, NPP candidate Nihal Jeewantha won the chairmanship with 12 votes, narrowly defeating the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) candidate, who received 11.

Meanwhile, in Walallawita, NPP’s Sunil Abeysiri secured a decisive win with 16 votes. The SJB and Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) candidates received 5 and 3 votes respectively.
