Sri Lanka Police will implement a special traffic and security plan from 18 August for the Kandy Esala Perahera.

The Kumbal Perahera will run from 18 to 22 August, followed by the Randoli Perahera from 23 to 27 August.

More than 8,000 security personnel will be deployed, while 13 designated parking areas and alternative routes will be provided for visitors and motorists.

Police have urged motorists to follow traffic instructions and use the designated alternative routes.
