The Cabinet of Ministers has officially approved the permanent appointment of Iraj Chaminda Pathiraja as the Controller General of Immigration and Emigration. 

This decision follows an earlier approval at the Cabinet meeting on 19 May, 2025, which granted Pathiraja, a senior officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service, a full-time acting appointment to the same position.

The recent approval was based on a proposal submitted by the Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, confirming. Pathiraja’s appointment on a permanent basis.
