Court of Appeal to rule on Suresh Sallay writ petition on November

18 Sep 2026 | BY Staff Writer

The Court of Appeal will deliver its order on 27 November on whether to grant leave to proceed with a writ petition filed by former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director Major General (Retd.) Suresh Sallay.

The petition challenges his arrest and detention under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks.

The two-judge bench also directed the parties to file any written submissions by 20 October. The court will also consider Sallay’s requests for interim relief on 27 November.
