Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath met with the Italian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo today (23).
The discussions focused on expanding political, economic, and cultural cooperation, while also addressing Italy’s engagement with the Sri Lankan community abroad.
Herath described the official visit as “an important step forward in fostering positive engagement between our two nations” in a post on X (formerly Twitter) following the meeting.
The talks come at a time when both countries are exploring deeper collaboration in trade, investment, and education, signalling renewed momentum in the bilateral relationship.
