The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has requested rooftop solar owners to temporarily disconnect their systems only if they receive an SMS alert, and only until 3 p.m. 

This measure is due to reduced power demand during the New Year holidays, which poses a risk to grid stability. 

The CEB thanked solar users for their cooperation in maintaining a stable grid.
