FIFA appointed the Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) as a host of the inaugural FIFA Series set to be held in the international window in March.
The FIFA Series has been launched to increase the possibilities for teams from different confederations to play against each other in meaningful matches that provide further opportunities for growth and unity among member associations from every corner of the world.
This is a big step for FFSL led by Jaswar Umar as they try to rebuild football after a turbulent last year. This is a sign of confidence from the governing body that we, as a country, have the capacity to organise this to the highest possible level and that it will also provide Bhutan, Central African Republic and Papua New Guinea with the wonderful opportunity of visiting our fascinating and unique country.
