President Anura Kumara Dissanayake chaired the 2027 pre-budget discussion of the Ministry of Energy, reviewing the progress of projects funded under the 2026 Budget and funding requirements for next year.

The President instructed officials to develop Delft, Analaitivu and Nainativu as Green Energy Islands while reviewing the progress of several electricity transmission, renewable energy and petroleum sector projects.

He also stressed the importance of completing all ongoing projects within the stipulated timeframe to deliver benefits to the public.
