The all-island results of the 2024 General election, which took place yesterday (14), has been released. 

The National People’s Power (NPP) won 159 seats after polling a total of over 6.8 million votes, which is 61.56% of the total votes counted.

Accordingly, Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) becomes the main opposition party of the Parliament after polling over 1.9 million votes (17.66%) and thereby winning 40 seats.

Ilankai Thamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK), the New Democratic Front (NDF) and the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) won 8, 5 and 3 seats respectively.
