U.S. President Donald Trump has reportedly nominated career diplomat Eric Meyer as the next United States Ambassador to Sri Lanka.

Meyer currently serves as Senior Bureau Official for South and Central Asian Affairs at the U.S. State Department.

He succeeds Julie Chung, who concluded her nearly four-year tenure as Ambassador yesterday (16).
