The Minister of Sports has accepted the resignation of the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket, including President Shammi Silva.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports noted that all administrative functions of Sri Lanka Cricket have been brought under its control with immediate effect.

The decision has been taken under Sections 31 and 34 of the Sports Act No. 25 of 1973.

The Ministry stated that a new committee will be appointed soon to address administrative issues and implement reforms.
