The Cabinet has approved the appointment of Ms. W.R.N.R. Premachandra as the new Director General of the Department of Buildings.

She will assume duties following the retirement of current Director General Ms. K.G. Sandhya Kumudini, effective from 2 June.

Premachandra is a senior officer in the Sri Lanka Engineering Service and has been serving as the Additional Secretary (Technical) to the Ministry of Defence.
