The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to remove legal provisions requiring the use of indelible ink during elections and referendums.
The Government noted that voters are already required to verify their identity using valid identification documents before casting their ballots. As both identity verification and indelible ink serve the purpose of preventing multiple voting, maintaining both mechanisms is considered unnecessary.
Accordingly, the Cabinet has approved amendments to several Election-related laws to remove provisions relating to the use of indelible ink at Presidential, Parliamentary, Provincial Council and Local Government Elections, as well as referendums.
