Sri Lanka Police have begun arrangements to repatriate 109 suspects wanted under Interpol Red Notices, following the return of organised crime figure and alleged drug trafficker Lalith Kannangara, alias “Bus Lalith”, from Dubai.
Police stated that 42 Red Notice suspects have been repatriated to Sri Lanka since 2024, while a further 38 suspects not subject to Red Notices have also been brought back.
“Bus Lalith” is currently being held by the Central Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) under detention orders, with investigations continuing into allegations including drug trafficking, murder, extortion and arson.
