Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development Bimal Rathnayake has assured the public that ongoing construction projects across Sri Lanka are proceeding without interruption, despite the current conflict in the Middle East.

In a video posted on his official Facebook page, the Minister highlighted that key infrastructure developments are continuing smoothly, including the third phase of the Central Expressway.

He explained that work on this crucial project, which spans from Pothuhera to Rambukkana and extends up to Galagedara, is progressing steadily.

As of March this year, approximately 75 percent of the construction work on the section between Pothuhera and Rambukkana has been completed.

Minister Rathnayake emphasized that all major development initiatives remain on schedule, with ongoing efforts to ensure their timely completion despite global challenges.

He reassured the public that Sri Lanka’s infrastructure development remains resilient and committed to progress, regardless of external conflicts.
