G. G. Ponnambalam has requested the Speaker to change the parliamentary seating position of Ramanathan Archchuna.

In a letter, Ponnambalam alleged that Archchuna had subjected him to verbal abuse, threats and derogatory remarks, affecting his ability to carry out his parliamentary duties.

He requested that Archchuna's seat be moved in line with the customary seating arrangements for independent Members of Parliament.
