Police have stated that notorious underworld figure Sujeewa Ruwankumara De Silva, alias ‘Loku Pattie,’ will be detained and questioned if necessary following his return to Sri Lanka from Belarus this morning (4).

Police say investigations have linked him to the killing of Wasantha Perera, also known as ‘Club Wasantha,’ in Athurugiriya, as well as multiple other crimes including murder, drug trafficking, and illegal firearm possession.

He arrived in the country at around 7:45 a.m. on a private airline flight from Dubai.

‘Loku Pattie’ is the 11th wanted criminal repatriated to Sri Lanka in the past 4 months.

Police emphasised that all legal proceedings will be conducted in accordance with Sri Lankan law.
