The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for strong winds affecting the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Northern and North Central provinces, and the Trincomalee and Hambantota districts.
The advisory, issued today (04), will remain in effect until 3.30 p.m. tomorrow (05).
Winds of 40–50 kmph are expected at times in the affected areas due to active south-west monsoon conditions.
Winds of 30–40 kmph may also occur in other parts of the island. The public has been advised to follow future weather updates.
