The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) says temporarily suspended water supplies in parts of Colombo and Gampaha are expected to return to normal within the next few hours.

Laboratory tests confirmed that water from the affected Kelani River intakes meets the required quality standards following measures taken with the assistance of the Tri-Forces.

The NWSDB warned that restoration may take longer in areas including Battaramulla, Kotte, Pamankada and Nugegoda.
